Demand for HR roles strongest in The Philippines
Across Southeast Asia, The Philippines has shown the strongest growth in online hiring for HR and Admin professionals for the months of April and May 2018.
The country continues to lead in e-recruitment activity for HR and Admin professionals, recording double-digit year-over-year growth in April (up 28%) and May (up 24%).
This is according to the latest Monster Employment Index a monthly gauge of online hiring activity across Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, tracked by Monster.com.
Malaysia, on the other hand, continued to struggle, reporting an 8% year-over-year slump in online hiring in May. This is down from a 3% decline registered in April, the weakest across the three markets surveyed by the Index.
After recording no annual growth or decline in the first quarter, Singapore saw a marginal 2% year-over-year growth in May.
“With digital transformation, we are seeing massive changes in companies of all sizes and across industries. It has become increasingly crucial for HR professionals to understand the evolving needs and expectations of businesses and employees, and to be part of the conversation around digitisation from both a technical and culture perspective,” said Abhijeet Mukherjee, CEO of Monster.com (Asia-Pacific and the Middle East).
