It will not be at all surprising to find everyone’s resolution for the new year is to get fitter, get healthier. We have seen more food establishments offering healthier choices, more sports events being organised and more healthy-conscious people around us, haven’t we?
A healthy workforce is a happier and a more productive one. As we binge amid the festive season, it is an opportune time for the HR department to help look into what the employees are neglecting – health.
To drive healthier lifestyles in the company, one way is to kick-start healthier dining. Are you offering enough healthier choices in your staff meals? This can mean wholegrain options, low-sugar drinks, low-calorie food cooked with healthier oil, or even just having more fruits, greens and skinless meat.

Internally, it is worthwhile to think about starting a monthly Sports Day or mini intra-competition. Be it a game of badminton or netball, it makes a good platform for everyone to mingle and most of all, have fun.
