Ombelle ZHANGOmbelle Zhang, HR, Alibaba Group

Ombelle Zhang will assume a senior HR position at Alibaba Group starting March 2018, HRM Magazine Asia can report.

She will be based in Singapore for the new role, although her exact designation has yet to be announced.

Zhang joins from Alibaba Group from financial technology company Ant Financial, where she led the HR team for international business units – namely, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and the US.

Zhang has held different senior HR positions across different HR functions at various Fortune 100 multinational companies such as Dell and Unilever for over 15 years.

Victor TngVictor Tng, Regional Learning and Development Manager, The Hour Glass Limited

Victor Tng is now the Regional Learning and Development Manager at luxury watch retailer The Hour Glass.

Effective February 2018, Tng will oversee all of the group’s talent development activities and initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to this role, he was the head of learning and development at supermarket and convenience store operator The Dairy Farm Group. There, he managed five learning and development teams with a total of 13 managers and executives to meet the evolving needs of Dairy Farm Singapore’s 8,000-strong workforce.

Tng writes that he is a “self-driven and action-oriented individual who is passionate about developing people to achieve their fullest potential”.

Desiree TanDesiree Tan, Senior Manager, Human Resources at Tapestry

Desiree Tan has joined US luxury fashion company Tapestry as Senior HR Manager, based in Singapore.

Tapestry is the parent company of global brands like Coach, Kate Spade New York, and Stuart Weitzman.

Tan was most recently the Regional HR Business Partner for beauty giant Coty’s Professional and Consumer Beauty division.

There, she helped to design a tailored organisation strategy focused on High Performing Organisations for Coty’s internal Asia, Middle East and Africa organisations.
