New talent roles at Vale, Sanofi and more

Here are some of this week's latest promotions and job moves within the Asia-Pacific HR industry.

Eugene TaiEugene Tai, Senior Manager (Group HR) - HR Business Partner, Kuok Singapore Limited Group

Eugene Tai joined maritime organisation Kuok Singapore Limited Group in May 2017 as its Senior Group HR Manager at the HR Business Partner

He was most recently the HR Business Partner lead for the learning and development and country HR operations division at real estate firm JLL.

Tai is a self-described HR Enthusiast with 15 years' experience within local and global arenas, equipped with a Master of Human Capital Management. He says he has great passion and commitment to drive human capabilities to its fullest potential.

He started his career at multinationals and government organisations, including NCS Group and Public Service Division.

Bernardus IrmantoBernardus Irmanto, Director of HR & General Affairs, Vale

Bernardus Irmanto has been promoted to the role of Director of HR and General Affairs at mining company Vale, based in Indonesia.

In this role, he is responsible for managing HR, stakeholder relations, Communication, permitting and formalities, corporate social responsibility, and security and facility services functions.

Also on the company’s board of directors, he will focus on building competent and capable organisation, and also on positioning the company as the preferred and sustainable partner for different stakeholders (community, government) to operate in Indonesia.

Irmanto, who has been at Vale for nine years, has over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, leading a wide spectrum of business functions from IT and supply chain management, to medical services and HR.

Liana TeoLiana Teo, HR Partner and Talent Management Lead, Sanofi

Liana Teo has been appointed the Talent Management and HR Partner Lead at French pharmaceutical company Sanofi.

In this role, she is responsible for the general medicine and emerging markets in Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia.

She is also part of the ONE HR Team for Sanofi’s Talent Management Practice in Asia Pacific.

Possessing 15 years of HR and learning and development experience, she was previously an HR Business Partner at digital payment platform Paypal.
