Regional HR Director - Engineering
About Our Client
Our client is in the engineering industry and is currently under the midst of expansion. The business leaders are focusing on talent attraction and talent retention hence they are currently looking for a seasoned APAC HR Director to join their team and to continue on building up the human capital capabilities in the region.
Reporting into the Managing Director for Asia Pacific and Group HR Director based out from Europe, you will take the helm in managing the HR function across Asia Pacific. The over-arching strategy of this position is to up-scale the human capital capabilities of the organization and to eventually enable a market perception to be an employer of choice. Recruitment would remain as a key priority but they would also be looking to establish a strong talent management framework to ensure higher retention rates and stronger capability bench-strength. The business is also investing in technology such as new recruitment software and a new ERP system which is perceived to aid HR in its journey to fine-tune processes within the organization. More importantly, you will be required to build relationships across 11 countries and influence through those relationships to help achieve company objectives from a human capital standpoint.
The Successful Applicant
You should possess a minimum of 16 years of HR Generalist / HR Partnering experience with at least the past 5 years in a HR Directorship position, equipped with a degree in HR or its equivalence. They would be looking for someone who is self-reliant, dynamic and comfortable working without being micro-managed. They would need someone who is comfortable in dealing with the “hard” industries, be resilient and accustomed to the business-needs of always needing and hiring more talent for the departments. They will be looking for someone who possess strong EQ and IQ to manage the stakeholders, build relationships and through those relationships, to influence and impact the business. This role will also require extensive travelling of up to 50% of the time.
