Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE) is partnering with Automation Anywhere, a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) company, to train students.

The aim is to equip students with RPA knowledge and skills, and prepare them to join a workforce that increasingly places emphasis on digital transformation.

As part of the partnership, ITE will set up three Centres of Excellence for RPA across its colleges in Singapore, with full working models of RPA software.

With Automation Anywhere’s software and curriculum materials, ITE students and full-time staff will have access to the latest, easy-to-use technology designed to leverage the benefits of RPA.

“Emerging technologies have created new skills sets and challenges, and it is our responsibility to provide exposure and experiences that would make our students innovators, creators and problem solvers in future,” said Low Khah Gek, CEO, ITE.

“As Singapore becomes an increasingly Smart Nation, its workforce must be prepared with future-ready
skills – which include working alongside bots and Industry 4.0 technologies like RPA,” said Ron Goh,
President of Automation Anywhere in Southeast Asia and Korea.

Emerging technologies are reshaping every industry, as artificial intelligence and automation drive productivity gains and new modes of work.

Technologies such as RPA are anticipated to create new jobs requiring higher level cognitive thinking and creativity, requirements at which humans uniquely excel and which drive the greatest employee satisfaction.
