Driven by their mission, NTUC LearningHub has persevered through the uncertainties brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic to provide training that have helped transform jobs and companies in Singapore.
For jobs, NUTC LearningHub participated in national initiatives such as the SGUnited Skills programme and the Self-Employed Persons Training Support Scheme to help workers and self-employed persons adapt to a new job environment.
For companies, NTUC LearningHub supported over 3,000 companies through the Enhanced Training Support Programme, and also rolled out new initiatives such as the SME Digital Reboot to help companies in their digital transformation.
In recognition of these efforts, HRM Asia readers voted NTUC LearningHub as the winner of the Gold Award for Best Corporate Training Provider. Calling the win “an encouragement”, Kwek Kok Kwong, CEO of NTUC LearningHub, said, “The pandemic in 2020 has brought many opportunities to help think about the transformation of our organisation. As we navigated through these challenges, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our stakeholders for their confidence and support that have enabled us to continue providing quality training services.
“This award reaffirms our company’s mission to provide learning that transforms employability and creates a better life for all working people. It also spurs us to expand our commitment for 2021 to further drive job transformations and company transformations. In an uncertain environment, upskilling and reskilling are imperative for both workers and companies to emerge stronger.”
Besides continuously striving to innovate in linking training to jobs, implement digital solutions and continuously curate best-in-class courses to ensure workers and companies in Singapore remain ready, relevant and resilient, NTUC LearningHub is also pushing ahead with their own transformation.
For example, they transitioned a few hundred courses to Virtual Live Class (VLC) delivery and rapidly trained over 400 trainers to be VLC-ready. NTUC LearningHub’s alliance of content partners (including industry leaders IBM, Go1, DuPont Sustainable Solutions and more) came together to democratise world-class knowledge for Singaporeans to learn from home and at their own pace.
“Our team responded swiftly by offering free online courses on LHUB GO, our community initiative to support the training needs of Singaporeans during the downturn, and the platform has already gathered over 100,000 users,” Kwek concluded.
NTUC LearningHub is the leading Continuing Education and Training provider in Singapore which aims to transform the lifelong employability of working people. Since their corporatisation in 2004, NTUC LearningHub has been working with employers and individual learners to provide learning solutions in multiple areas.
