In recognition of their continued commitment to providing the skills and knowledge for Singapore employees to thrive in an ever-changing workplace, the Singapore Polytechnic PACE Academy has been selected as the Gold Winner of the Best Corporate Learning and Development Provider in this year’s competition, an award the institution also picked up last year.
Wong Jian Chang, Director, SP PACE Academy, said, “Singapore Polytechnic Professional & Adult Continuing Education (SP PACE) Academy is proud to be the 2nd time Gold Award Winner for the Best Corporate Learning & Development Provider in the HRM Asia Readers’ Choice Awards 2020 and 2019.
“We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of those who have voted for us for the Best Corporate – Learning & Development Provider. We are committed and excited to be part of your lifelong journey!”
In order to ensure continued relevancy of employees’ skillsets in tandem with industry needs, SP PACE Academy collaborates strategically with various industry stakeholders such as economic/funding agencies, Trade Association and Chambers (TACs), and unions. This includes the co-development and co-delivery of training programmes, as well as placement facilitation for trainees.
To introduce a new innovative learning approach, SP Pace Academy has added the Industry Now Curriculum (INC) into its suite of Work-Study Programmes (WSPs). With a significant portion of curriculum time in on-the-job training (OJT), it is imperative for valuable partnerships with industry players to be forged and deepened in order for participants to apply their skills in a real work environment. SP Pace Academy also has companies co-locating on their campus to allow better integration and proximity for participants to learn through industry projects and further extend their learning journey to year-long internships, to Continuing Education & Training (CET) and eventually, to employment.
SP PACE Academy has also set up the Centre for i4.0 Workforce Transformation (Ci4.0WT) early this year, which seeks to transform workforce through upskilling/reskilling within the workflow with minimal disruption to business operations. The centre has been working with at least 20 companies, embedding learning at the precise moments of need so to achieve the higher productivity targets.
Singapore Polytechnic (SP) has been training and developing the local workforce since 1954. SP Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy provides the focal point for Continuing Education and Training (CET) as SP continues to provide new and effective pathways for learners of all ages to develop their skills and knowledge so as to be employable in an ever-changing workplace.
