RCA2018: Best Corporate MICE Venue (Southeast Asia)

Prinya Tieanworn, CEO of the VMPC Group (which is the holding company of Oakwood Hotel and Residence Sri Racha) and pictured above with his wife Areeya Asvanund, was celebrating with colleagues from both Singapore and Thailand during the Readers’ Choice Awards gala ceremony on September 28.

With the Thailand property scooping not just one, but two awards in the predominantly Singapore-focused awards, he was keen to ensure the unique feat was recognised throughout the region. But he was particularly pleased with the win in the MICE category in 2018.

“Guest engagement and guest satisfaction is the key which has let us come here, and this will remain the focus,” he said. “As a chain (Oakwood) we are very active on using the guest satisfaction and online reputation management tools which have shown a significant improvement to understand our guests and their needs.”

The future for the very new property also looks bright, with the industrial region having long sought after a modern MICE venue with state-of-the-art facilities.

Since we opened, the hotel has been reaching milestones, and guests has been praising us on every platform,” Tieanworn said. “The future definitely looks very promising.

“The right platform has been set now, so we are able to focus even more on guest satisfaction.”
