Google Job Search launches in Philippines with 500,000 listings

Google’s Job Search has launched in the Philippines, and featured some half-a-million job listings on its initial day.

Google’s Job Search launched in the Philippines on February 13, featuring about 500,000 job listings on its initial day.

According to Stacie Chan, Google’s search product partnerships lead in Asia Pacific, the launch of the online job portal in the country was made possible with the backing of private partners like Kalibrr, Jobs Cloud, and Job Bayan.

It also drew support from government agencies such as the Department of Labor and Employment and the Civil Service Commission.

Chan said that the Philippines has an enormous young talent base, and jobs are among the most-searched topics on Google.

The jobs search function can be located using Google Philippines’ main search display. After entering a job title as the search item, the user gets access to the job search function at the top of the returned results.

Google Job Search first entered the Southeast Asian market last year, when it launched in Singapore.
