Israel is looking to hire more workers for its hotel industry, and is targeting workers from the Philippines.
According to the Philippine labour and employment department, a delegation from Israel will discuss the hiring of more overseas Filipino workers for its hotel industry through a new agreement.
Such an agreement will be the second of its kind. President Duterte signed an initial bilateral labour agreement during a visit to Israel last month.
Labour Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the labour agreement between the Philippines and Israel will attract more Filipino workers because it will reduce recruitment fees.
Israel is a popular destination for overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East, placing in the top 10 along with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Jordan.
At present, there are some 29,000 Filipinos already working in Israel, most of whom are caregivers.
