Chinese universities fly high in employability rankings

China’s higher education institutes have outperformed their regional counterparts in the latest QS Graduate Employability Rankings.
The rankings measure the world’s top 500 universities according to the following indicators: employer reputation (based on a survey of 42,000 global employers, alumni outcomes, partnerships with employers, employer/student connections, and graduate employment rate.
Stanford University in the US was found to produce the most employable graduates, followed by fellow American institutions, University of California, Los Angeles, and Harvard University.
Australia’s University of Sydney and University of Melbourne ranked fourth and seventh respectively, while China’s Tsinghua University (pictured) was the top Asian entrant, at 9th place.
The top 10 universities in Asia for graduate employability (number represents global ranking) are:

13 – University of Hong Kong
19 – University of Tokyo (Japan)
20 – Peking University (China)
23 – Seoul National University (South Korea)
26 – Fudan University (China)
27 – Waseda University (Japan)
33 – National University of Singapore
38 – Zhejian University (China)
42 – Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China)
