Hong Kong Disneyland to employ staff over 60 on open-ended contracts

Hong Kong Disneyland employees aged 60 or above are now allowed to continue their employment at the theme park on open-ended permanent contracts with no termination date.

Previously those over 60 needed to have their contracts updated each year.

The development came as a result of the implementation of a change in retirement policy at the company, which took effect on New Year’s Day. Only full-time workers will benefit from the change.

There are currently about 430 full-timer employees at the park that are between the ages of 55 and 60, and the policy change will support some 130 full-timers who will be turning 60 or above this year.

At present, the theme park has about 7,000 employees; some 5,000 full-time, and 2,000 part-time.
