Industries in Vietnam boost recruitment

This was according to the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, which also said more than 80,500 people found employment during the same period, a year-on-year increase of 4,100.

The recovery of the labour market in the city is attributed to the demand for workers in the construction and service sectors.

Of the 4.9 million strong workforce in the city, the construction and services sectors account for 37.15% and 61.89%, respectively, while agriculture, fisheries and forestry sectors account for just 0.96%.

Another major hirer is the tourism industry, which was among the hardest hit by the pandemic. With the full reopening of both inbound and outbound tourism since mid-March, hospitality firms are rushing to recruit and train staff.

Also looking to hire more staff are the fintech, retail, and consumer goods sectors, particularly in sales and marketing, production and technology, and engineering roles.

Recent recruitment trends show that fintech, the logistics and manufacturing industries are up and rising in Vietnam. Hence, the spotlight is now on tech-focused roles like product manager, business analyst or software developer, as well as strategic quality, sourcing, and engineering roles, according to VietnamPlus.
