Total wellbeing core of Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore’s people strategy
- Champa Ha
All about the people: Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore was recently ranked as one of the top ten employers in Singapore.
At Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS), total wellbeing represents more than just a checklist of traditional workplace perks. Instead, it is about creating a culture that fosters a sense of purpose, belonging, and empowerment for employees, supporting their professional, physical, social, and emotional health.
Speaking with HRM Asia, Shaun Ee, Cluster Head of People in Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (part of the Heineken company) and Heineken Myanmar, explained, “We believe that our holistic approach is key to building a healthier, happier, and more resilient workforce. By prioritising total wellbeing, we’re investing in our people and creating an environment where everyone can thrive and unlock their full potential.”
This focus on creating a people-first workplace culture, saw APBS recently certified by Great Place to Work and listed in the Top 10 Employers in Singapore’s Best Employers 2023 list, including being first in the F&B, Tobacco and Alcohol Category, which was complied by global market research firm Statista, in collaboration with The Straits Times.
The Great Place to Work survey, which was completed in March this year, showed that nine out of ten employees (91%) in APBS thought that the organisation was a great workplace and highlighted APBS’ emphasis on diversity and entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with its commitment to creating an inclusive environment.
