Brunei to upskill more micro, small and medium enterprises

Brunei is aiming to nurture more micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under the Brunei Mentors for Entrepreneurs Network (BMEN) by March 2023.
Through BMEN, MSMEs are provided with voluntary mentorships from leading business people, professionals and subject matter experts in Brunei to provide guidance and key business insights.
This can take the form of mentor clinics, where MSMEs can drop in to seek counsel from mentors with specific areas of expertise; speed mentoring, where mentees can individually meet a wider group of mentors in quick sessions; and virtual mentor circles, where a group of mentees meet regularly with an assigned mentor online.
“Small business owners need plenty of support to succeed – be it financial, operational or emotional support. Business mentorship is one of the most practical ways in which we can guide our local MSMEs to brave the challenges that they are bound to face in their journey,” said Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, reports Borneo Bulletin.
Knowledge transfer through mentorship can help contribute to a more productive and vibrant business ecosystem, a key priority under the Brunei Darussalam Economic Blueprint, he added.
