China-Pakistan economic corridor to generate 700,000 jobs

A recent study forecasts that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is likely to generate up to 700,000 jobs in Pakistan by 2030.

 

A recent study forecasts that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is likely to generate up to 700,000 jobs in Pakistan by 2030.

The study, conducted by the CPEC Center of Excellence and the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Reform of Pakistan showed that the new jobs that will be created may even surpass 1.2 million based on the projects that are being implemented in the corridor.

According to data from the Chinese Embassy shows, CPEC projects have thus far created jobs for 75,000 people across the country

Chinese firms have also outsourced a large number of projects to local Pakistani firms in a bid to promote economic development of Pakistan; in industries such as raw materials processing and catering.
