foodpanda, the on-demand international food delivery service, has recently implemented new employee benefits in Malaysia.

As of this year, new fathers at foodpanda Malaysia will be entitled to one month of paid paternity leave.

In addition to that, foodpanda is reportedly one of the first in Malaysia to provide their employees with both paid maternity and paternity leave to parents who adopt a child.

Maternity leave of 90 days, as well as paternity leave of 30 days, will be granted to employees who adopt a child under the age of 5.

“foodpanda acknowledges the importance of parents spending quality time to bond with their child. We believe that it is important for both parents to play an active role in the early stages of their child’s life,” said Sayantan Das, Managing Director, foodpanda Malaysia.

The foodpanda rider fleet will also be entitled to a new insurance policy effective on the 1st of March 2019. All active riders will be fully covered up to RM20,000 (US$4,900), 24 hours a day.

The extensive insurance covers individuals from injuries and accidents, permanent disabilities as well as death.

The company says that the new policies are just a few of the new employee benefits implemented by foodpanda this year; in line with its commitment to enabling positive employee experiences and working culture.
