Future of work will be a hybrid model: Zoom CEO

Zoom CEO Eric Yuan believes that the world will see a hybrid working model as solely working from home is unlikely and unsustainable.

Zoom Video Communications’ chief executive Eric Yuan believes the world will see a hybrid model of work as a fully remote working one is not sustainable.

The working world has been thrust into working remotely since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. And Zoom has become a household name and a go-to video conferencing platform for companies and employees around the world.

When asked if he sees the working world transiting to remote working fully during a virtual conference organised by the Singapore Institute of Directors on August 25, Yuan said, “I think a hybrid, I think that’s a future, and I think almost every organisation they got to embrace that – give employees flexibility.

“Meaning, some days, you work in office, some days you work at home, or maybe (you) give employees (a) choice; they can work from home if they want, because technology is ready.”

Zoom currently has a market capitalisation of around US$80 billion and offices or data centres in 18 cities worldwide, including the latest one in Singapore.
