Indonesia’s minimum wage to increase by at least 1.09% in 2022

The final decision on the increase will be decided by the governor of each province, and based on the data published by Statistics Indonesia.

Indonesia’s average provincial minimum wage in 2022 will increase by at least 1.09%, according to the Manpower Ministry’s Director-General for Industrial Relations and Manpower Social Security, Indah Anggoro Putri.

The lowest average provincial minimum wage will be in Central Java, at Rp1,813,011 (US$128), while the highest average provincial minimum wage will be in Jakarta, at Rp4,453,724 (US$314).

“The average adjustment [in 2022] is at 1.09 percent. I’m not saying that this is the provincial minimum salary, but this is the average minimum adjustment on salaries next year,” said Putri.

The final decision on the increase will be decided by the governor of each province, and based on the data published by Statistics Indonesia, Putri added.

“It doesn’t mean that all provincial minimum salaries will increase by 1.09 percent,” she explained, according to Tempo.co.
