Mike Ng named as OCBC’s first Chief Sustainability Officer

To accelerate its sustainability efforts, OCBC has named Mike Ng as the bank’s first Group Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). He will actively lead OCBC’s sustainability agenda, including the transition to Net Zero economy on both the lending and wealth management fronts.
Ng will head OCBC’s Board Sustainability Committee – which was set up in February 2023 to set up efforts in overseeing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues – and go beyond promoting and reporting of ESG content or strategy to ensure effective business alignment.

Assuming his new role on 1 August 2023, Ng will build also actively lead efforts in supporting clients’ transition and delivering innovative products and services to help clients achieve their climate action plans.
Ng joined OCBC as Head of Structured and Project Finance in 2010, before expanding his role to drive the offerings of sustainable finance solutions among large corporations in 2018. In June 2022, he assumed the role of Head of Sustainability Office, Global Wholesale Banking.
