India’s IT sector to generate 250,000 jobs next year

The information technology (IT) sector in India is expected to generate 250,000 new jobs next year, ending a a years-long lull.

This development is attributed to the increasing uptake of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics for automation.

These technologies are driving the industry’s growth according to a report by HR and staffing solutions provider, TeamLease Services.

Indian IT firms will also continue to spend on upskilling employees, with an estimated increase by around 20% next year.

Alka Dhingra, general manager at TeamLease Services, said mathematics, architecture, and engineering-related fields are likely to see growth in terms of hiring trends.

Additionally, the average salary is expected to see a rise of about 13% next year.
