Going green isn’t just a social issue – it’s also a way for companies to become more digitially transformative, and more efficient.
In Singapore, Mitsui Chemicals Asia-Pacific has done away with hardcopy résumé submissions during career fairs. Instead, candidates are invited to key their details on a tablet at the booth.
Alternatively, they can also scan QR Code to access the online submission platform to send in their details on-the-go.
During the recent Nanyang Technological University Career Fair 2019, the company received more than 70 job applications through the online submission platform.
This was the second time this method was adopted. It was first piloted during National University of Singapore Career Fest 2018.
With the new platform, the company’s HR professionals and hiring managers are saved from tedious manual data entry. Instead, they can can filter out key information for the shortlisting process.
Only key information is received through the online submission platform. Information such as gender and age are omitted to ensure fairness in shortlisting process.
Suitable applicants are then subsequently asked to send in their softcopy résumé.
