Honda’s Bangladeshi plant to begin manufacturing

Honda has established a new factory in Bangladesh and believes that the motorcycle industry will further contribute to the national economy.

 

Honda has started manufacturing motorcycles at its new plant in the Abdul Monem Economic Zone in Gazaria, Bangladesh.

As it opens a new motorcycle manufacturing plant in the country, Honda executives have expressed confidence that the company will be able to make a positive impact to the country by creating more jobs and generating skilled workers.

The plant will have an initial annual production capacity of 100,000 motorcycles, which will increase to 200,000 units by 2021.

Bangladesh Honda Private Limited Managing Director and CEO Yuichiro Ishii said during the inauguration of the plant that Honda believes in the future potential of the country’s motorcycle industry.

As part of efforts to generate more jobs and boost the economy, the Bangladeshi government will be establishing 100 economic zones across the country.
