Companies in Vietnam offer to pay for vaccination of staff

Most employers are willing to pay to vaccinate their employees to curb the spread of the virus in their companies.

In the battle against the pandemic, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour is encouraging companies to buy vaccines for workers. Many businesses in turn, said they were willing to pay for vaccines to inoculate their workers.

Trade Union of Nidec Vietnam chairman Luu Kim Hong said that with the large number of employees working in industrial parks and export processing zones and living in close proximity in dormitories, there is a great risk of the spread of the virus which will affect the company’s production and workers’ lives. As such, the company is willing to pay for its staff’s vaccination.

Similarly, a representative of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), which employs more than 150,000 workers, said all companies in the country’s textile and garment industry – which has over 2.5 million staff – have agreed to pay for the vaccination of their employees.

In addition, food producer Saigon Food Joint Stock Company in Vinh Loc Industrial Park wants to vaccinate its workers and is ready to pay for the vaccine.
