Malaysia provides assistance to workers and employers

The Employment Insurance System (EIS), managed by the Social Security Organisation (Socso), offers workers who have lost their jobs temporary assistance and benefits such as job search allowance, early re-employment allowance, reduced income allowance, training allowance and job search assistance.
In a statement, the ministry said, “Besides that, the training fee is paid directly to registered training providers with a maximum amount of RM4,000 (US$1,292). The EIS is a social security network programme aimed at helping workers who lost their jobs to get temporary income replacement and employment in order to survive.”
Workers from all sectors who are insured under the EIS would also be given advice and assistance, as well as the opportunity to upskills or reskill through the training schemes provided by the government.

Applications for EIS benefits can be done online or by visiting Socso counters, according to Bernama.
