Victoria sets aside A$200 million stimulus for firms

A$34.2 million of funding will be used to place workers in over 1,500 jobs across hospitality, warehousing and logistics, and tourism.

The Victorian government has set aside A$200 million (US$143.3 million) to help companies recover from the impact of the Omicron variant, targeting key sectors led by hospitality and tourism and supporting jobs across the state.

Some A$34.2 million (US$24.5 million) of funding under Jobs Victoria will be used to place workers in over 1,500 jobs across hospitality, warehousing and logistics, tourism and food processing.

Meanwhile, the government will also carve out A$5 million (US$3.58 million) under its Small Business Digital Adaptation Programme. This will provide companies with rebates of up to $1,200 (US$860) so they can access a range of digital tools.

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will also extend its Business Recovery and Resilience Mentoring Programme to provide more access to coaching to small businesses.
