Employers in South Korea likely to hire more in 2024

More than half the employers in South Korea are looking to hire new employees this year.
This is according to a survey conducted by Job Korea, a job platform, which surveyed 313 corporate human resource managers. Of the respondents, 58.8 % of the organisations intend to hire new employees this year.
Meanwhile, 22% of the organisations have not confirmed their hiring plans, and 19.2 % have reported no plans at all, reported Pulse News.
Among the organisations with hiring plans, around three out of five respondents (61.4 %) have stated that they would hire both entry-level and experienced employees.
The most common job positions for hiring were production and on-site jobs at 20.7 %, followed by domestic sales at 19.6 %, sales management at 18.5 %, marketing at 17.9 %, human resources and accounting at 17.4 %, and research and development at 16.8 %.

Expectations of this year’s job market are, for nearly half of the respondents (46.6 %) of the surveyed organisations, anticipated it to be similar to the previous year. More than 30 % of the surveyed, on the other hand, anticipated a worse job market than last year while 20.8 % said it will improve this year.
