Flexible working arrangements set to stay in South Korea
Most workers in South Korea who are involved in a flexible working arrangement felt an improvement in their productivity and work-life balance, a survey by the Federation of Korean Industries revealed.
The survey, which received responses from 723 wage workers, found that 74.3% of those using flexible work systems felt that their work-life balance improved after the introduction of such working arrangements.
About 73.3% of those in flexible working arrangements were satisfied with their current arrangement, and 66.6% of workers believe that flexible work systems are effective in reducing unnecessary overtime work, reports Korea Bizwire.
Some 77% of workers felt that such a working arrangement had an impact on work performance and productivity. Among the respondents, the share of married workers stood at 67%, which is twice as high as the share of unmarried workers, at 33%.

Young South Koreans are also increasingly embracing flexible work in the form of short-term gigs and freelance jobs.
According to a recent survey by job search portal Saramin, young South Koreans seek the flexibility to choose their working hours and enjoy the freedom from corporate culture and relationships.
