With a new normal upon us, the way we work and learn will never be the same again. While most of the workforce is starting to find their feet around the new way of working, the next challenge for employers is to rethink their learning and development strategies.

At the HR Tech Festival Asia Online 2020, which is taking place from September 29 to October 1, Abhijit Bhaduri, HR influencer and digital transformation coach who works with organisations in transforming their leadership teams, talent strategy and culture, will delve into what employers should be doing to upskill the workforce in the new normal.

“The pandemic has changed the world of work. The home has become the workplace. Workdays stretch into personal time. Play blends into work as employees work with easy access to entertainment,” he told HRM Asia.

“Prime time is nine hours earlier than normal. Without the freedom to socialize, people are fighting boredom by looking for content that is engaging. When combined these changes have many consequences for the L&D teams across organizations.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed ushered in a new era in learning and development. And technology will have a pivotal role to play in helping the workforce learn and upskill to keep pace with the wave of changes that will continue to come.

Also speaking at the HR Tech Festival Asia Online 2020 is Aek Ussivakul, Senior Vice President Learning Platform and Data, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB).

He will be sharing SCB’s transformation journey and key lessons learned as well as providing insights on where the world is heading, the story of exponential technology and learning, and what we can expect from the technology.
