Martin Chee has been appointed as managing director of IBM Singapore, where he will harness his experience in spearheading IBM’s digital transformation initiatives in Singapore. Reporting to Patricia Yim, general manager of IBM ASEAN, Chee will be responsible for business growth and strengthening IBM’s partnership with clients for a cloud and cognitive-led digital transformation of their businesses.

A senior leader with two decades of regional experience, Chee started his career with IBM in the Software Group in Singapore, back in 2001. Throughout his career with IBM, Chee has held various leadership positions in Services, Software, and Enterprise in the Asia-Pacific region. Most recent, he was vice-president of Analytics, IBM Asia-Pacific.

Chee’s new position is a critical one, as Singapore continues to be of strategic importance to IBM, and is where the company actively supports clients’ efforts to build a competitive advantage by advancing their digital transformation journey. By building on more 60 years of presence, IBM will continue to enhance Singapore’s innovation ecosystem to ensure it continues to be a global hub for business, innovation and highly skilled talent, said Yim.

She added, “I am delighted that Martin is bringing his regional leadership experience and extensive understanding of digital transformation, from ideation to implementation, to IBM Singapore. With his deep client insights, strong track record and passion for empowering clients, I am confident Martin and his team will make a difference. He will play a key role in helping clients leverage disruptive technologies such as AI, cloud computing, quantum and world class security.”
