Tata Starbucks has announced the opening of two stores in India that are operated entirely by women, with the number of all female-led stores to double by the end of the year.

The company, which is a 50:50 joint venture by Tata Consumer Products and Starbucks Corporation, owns and operates Starbucks outlets in India.

The two all-women stores are located in the heart of Delhi city at Shivaji Stadium, and Commerz II, Mumbai, along the Western Express Highway, in the heart of Goregaon.

“Tata Starbucks remains focused on creating and strengthening opportunities for women and fostering diversity across our organization,” said Navin Gurnaney, ceo, Tata Starbucks Private Limited.

“We are proud to open these all-women stores that will increase our commitment to diversity and inclusion in India and empower our female partners in new and meaningful ways.”

Today, women make up 28% of Tata Starbucks workforce. The company established an internal Women’s Inclusion Network @ Starbucks platform to further advance gender diversity and provide support to women in India to help them further excel in their careers.

The latest all-women stores will look to play an important part of its efforts to achieving 40% gender diversity by the end of 2022.
