Malaysia’s Yayasan Peneraju has certified over 36,000 bumiputeras

This was done through the agency’s 276 educational and skills training programmes made possible by the government’s funding of RM822 million (US$203 million) since the agency was set up.
Minister in the prime minister’s department (special functions) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof said Yayasan Peneraju’s efforts are aligned with the vision to upgrade Malaysia towards a high-income country through academic, vocational, professional and specialist certifications.
Datuk Redzuan, who supervises the agency, added, “As Malaysia moves towards the status of a developed country, improving the quality of education to the same level as in the developed countries is the key to transforming the country from a labour-intensive economy to a high-value economy with high-income status.”
Yayasan Peneraju’s programmes are in line with the government’s Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV2030) agenda, which aims to reduce the income and wealth gap among the country’s socio-economic classes, ethnic groups and geographical regions.
These programmes include the Peneraju Skil Iltizam Zero to Hero programme and Peneraju Skil for skilled workers, which have trained youths under the age of 20 and 30 who now earn incomes of up to RM9,000 (US$2,2256) and RM24,000 (US$5,935) monthly, respectively. Most of these graduates are now working in high-income and high-skilled industries like aerospace, electrical and electronics, information, communication and technology (ICT), oil and gas, manufacturing, tourism and technology.

Yayasan Peneraju CEO Mohd Muzzammil Ismail said as the agency celebrates its 9th anniversary, its commitment to continue producing more competitive and world-class bumiputera talents remains unchanged.
For this year, the agency aims to provide opportunities to over 9,000 beneficiaries with the focus on professional, technology and high-skill fields to support the country’s need in meeting the goals of SPV2030, according to New Straits Times.
