NAB leads Australia’s drive to increase female participation in tech

The National Australia Bank (NAB) has launched an in-house version of She Builds CloudUp programme to boost gender diversity in tech.

NAB is making strides in promoting gender diversity in the tech industry with the recent launch of an in-house version of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) She Builds CloudUp programme. With more than 500 female employees signed up, NAB is providing a platform for women seeking to upskill in digital technology and become part of the first NAB in-house certification cohort in cloud technology.

Designed for women looking to start a career in tech or professionals who want to reskill or cross-skill, the eight-week learning programme includes digital self-paced modules, and weekly virtual Q&A sessions with AWS mentors, along with recorded sessions and shared resources.

Ana Cammaroto, CIO, Personal Banking and Digital, NAB, said, “According to the Tech Council of Australia, we need one million people working in tech by 2025, and part of the way we can get there is by boosting gender diversity and getting more women working in a traditionally male dominated industry.”

“Heading into 2023, our focus will remain on increasing female participation in technology at every level and She Builds CloudUp is a great example of how we will do exactly that.”

The She Builds CloudUp programme complements NAB’s existing suite of technology and digital development programmes, including the NAB Cloud Guild, which has reportedly trained thousands of employees in cloud and result in over 4,500 industry-recognised certifications.
