CHRO Indonesia 2024: HR leaders seek innovation amidst challenges

As the corporate landscape continues to evolve, forward-thinking leaders are devising innovative strategies to navigate the myriad challenges of 2024. CHRO Indonesia 2024, slated for August 14 at Park Hyatt Jakarta, is poised to be a pivotal event for HR professionals. This year’s theme centres around formulating key people strategies, building a culture of belonging and equity, and deploying innovative HR technologies to improve employee experience.
One of the key sessions, A Data-Driven, Experience-Led and Skills-Based Approach to Digital Acceleration in HR Transformation, will be led by Tom Haythorn, Head of Solution Consulting, Human Capital Management Solution Consulting, ASEAN, Workday. Haythorn will delve into how organisations can keep employees engaged, empowered, and primed to perform by optimising and augmenting workforce excellence with AI-enabled process automation and decision-making. The session will also explore the integration of human capital management (HCM) platforms and agile methodologies to personalise employee experience.
Ripy Mangkoesoebroto, Director of People and Culture at HM Sampoerna, will lead another notable session titled Leadership Shifts to Unleash an Era of Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Business Outperformance. This session aims to redefine leadership by fostering a culture of inclusivity and human-centred practices, and Mangkoesoebroto will discuss going beyond traditional norms to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), value creation, and employee empowerment. The session will also emphasise the shift from profit-focused strategies to those centred on brand values, transparency, aspiration, and shared purpose.
In The Payroll Paradigm Shift: Elevating Employee Experience in Today’s Workplace, Subbaraman Ramaswamy, Chief Customer Success Officer, Global Enterprise, Ramco Systems, will address the complexities in payroll management. This session will provide insights into evaluating payroll systems, understanding who to outsource to, and mastering the know-how of streamlining and simplifying complex payroll processes. Ramaswamy will highlight how optimising payroll and people management can enhance business growth and productivity.

A key highlight at CHRO Indonesia 2024 is the panel discussion titled Industry 4.0: Future-Proofing Your HR Tech Stack and Workforce Management for Competitive Advantage. Moderated by Rudy Manik, Chief HR and Marketing Officer at FWD Insurance Indonesia, the discussion will feature insights from Wing Antariksa, CHRO at Bluebird Group; Willy Saelan, HR Director at Unilever Indonesia; Julie Anwar, Head of HR at OCBC Indonesia; and Harliana Liswati, Head of HR at Mitra Adiperkasa. The panel will explore streamlining HR processes, aligning tech stacks with organisational goals, and maximising return-on-investment (ROI) from investments in talent and technologies, and promoting workplaces that thrive on adaptability and innovation.
CHRO Indonesia 2024 will then conclude with the final session on Championing a Positive Work Culture in Building Connected, Engaged, and High-Performing Teams by Yenita Oktora, CHRO of L’Oreal Indonesia. Oktora will discuss reinvigorating employee value proposition (EVP), identifying key milestones in the employee journey, prioritising wellbeing, and driving continuous improvement in employee experience.
