Employee well-being had been a growing area of focus for many employers worldwide, even before the COVID-19 pandemic. The disruption caused to many organisations, however, proved a positive catalyst for finding new ways to maintain engagement through well-being, despite a largely disparate workforce, said Adrian Seligman, Chief Commercial Officer, Top Employers Institute.

During his joint presentation with Ammara Naeem, Head of Client Success, Top Employers Institute titled, Holistic Wellbeing: Presenting the Challenges and Opportunities for APAC’s Employers, Seligman will share how, while organisations are making progress in almost all areas focused on People Strategy, more needs to be done around well-being practices.

To help organisations meet the challenges of a ‘new normal’, the joint presentation will give practical examples of how leading organisations worldwide can becoming bolder in their experiments to drive and support a more holistic approach to well-being.

Seligman added, “Even though HR leaders in APAC face challenges to do more to embed holistic well-being initiatives, they also have a unique opportunity, right now, to experiment and build further on the gains already made – and transform the performance of their people.”

While many white-collar jobs quickly pivoted to remote or hybrid work since the pandemic, the frontline workforce emerged as a key pillar of resilience, offering vital lifelines to global supply chains and consumer demands, observed Matthew Ward, CEO and Founder of Workmate.

In a fireside chat with Bhavani Shankar Mishra, Regional Director, Logistics (APAC), foodpanda, titled, Tools for Building a Winning Frontline Workforce, Ward will discuss the key challenges organisations face today in hiring quality workers at scale and recommend strategies to hire and retain workers when managing a large shift-based workforce.

As more companies continue to accelerate the adoption of digital tools to automate and drive efficiencies in recruitment retention and workforce productivity, Ward and Mishra will also examine the opportunities for tech-enablement in recruitment and operational excellence.
