HR Tech Festival Asia 2022: What’s happening on Day 3

To highlight the collaboration that countries in ASEAN are demonstrating in adapting to new business models and ways of work, HR Tech Festival Asia 2022 is bringing back the popular ASEAN Future of Work (FOW) conference.

Now into its third edition, ASEAN FOW will bring together speakers from regional governments, unions, and the private sector to highlight collective efforts to shape the future of work in the region.

Kicking off the conference as the Guest of Honour (GOH) is Heng Swee Keat, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, who will be making the opening address.

After the GOH’s opening address, attention will turn to how artificial intelligence (AI) is being adopted in ASEAN to support workforce management and key HR functions.

Moderated by Associate Professor Hahn Jungpil, Deputy Director (AI Governance), AI Singapore, the panel discussion titled, The Future of AI in HR: Balancing Innovation, Ethics and Governance, will discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by HR practitioners as they increasingly adopt and harness AI in their work.

Associate Professor Hahn will be joined by Poon King Wang, Director, Lee Kuan Yew, Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), Singapore University of Technology and Design; Nina Alag Suri, CEO of X0PA AI; and Susan Cheong, Managing Director & Group Head of Talent Acquisition & Talent Management Singapore, and Singapore HR Head, DBS Bank.

Away from ASEAN FOW, HR Tech Festival Online will also examine the top HR technology trends of 2022. Join Stacy Harris, Chief Research Officer for Sapient Insights Group, as she presents the top five emerging HR technology trends of 2022 for Asia-based organisations in her keynote session.

Drawn from research by Sapient Insights Group, Harris will look at the rapid growth of HRMS platforms and payroll solutions, new learning technologies that are reshaping development opportunities in Asia, and the emerging space of data-analytics solutions.

If you are pondering what you can do to achieve long-term employee retention, join Rob Squires, VP, Regional Head of Sales, Asia and Japan, Ceridian, in his session titled, Competing for Talent Takes More Than Pay.

Squires will take a deep dive into Ceridian’s 2022 Pulse of Talent survey to highlight current employee sentiment on their workplace and employer, the three key areas employers should focus on for long-term employee retention, and how to embed value everywhere in the employee experience (EX).

Carrying on the EX conversation is Lauren Huntington, EX Solution Strategy Lead, Southeast Asia, India, Greater China, Qualtrics. In her session titled, Designing the Ultimate Employee Experience Programme Beyond Engagement, Huntington will discuss how the pivot to remote and hybrid work has accelerated a new take on what it means to be an employee.

In examining how this pivot is also disrupting employee expectation, she will provide answers to how organisations can measure outcomes beyond engagement to drive retention, business outcomes, and an engaged workforce.

Imagine employees having the same connection to their learning as they do to their daily social and streaming habits. How can organisations stop the scroll and learners? In her session titled, Learner Engagement – Creating Clickbait Content, Jo Maitland, Learning Consultant, Docebo, will explore the marketing principles that drive learners to where they need to be, and help to create a binge-worthy appetite to organisations’ learning offer.

As the former Global Head of Recruiting at McDonald’s, Joshua Secrest, VP of Marketing and Client Advocacy, Paradox, will share insights on how McDonald’s and UOB have employed conversational AI assistants to automate and simplify hiring processes.

In his session titled, Automation with A Human Touch: How McDonald’s and UOB Use Conversational AI To Improve Efficiency and Candidate Experience, Secrest will also highlight how organisations can reduce friction that leads to applicant drop-off, and why the present and future of recruiting and hiring is conversations.

Rounding off Day 3 of HR Tech Festival Asia 2022 is the panel discussion titled, The Role of HR 2022-2025. Moderated by Dr Tanvi Gautam, HR Influencer, Keynote Speakers, Author, and Transformational Leadership Expert, the session will explore the role of HR in enabling an agile, competitive organisation in a post-pandemic era.

Dr Tanvi will be joined by Andreas Bianchi, Global HR, Transformation Director, Banco Santander; Tanuj Kapilashrami, Group Head, Human Resources, Standard Chartered Bank; and Shailaja Sharma, Group Head, Leadership and Learning, IHH Healthcare, as they also predict how the workplace will look like in 2025 and what workforce challenges will emerge.
