Driven by global events, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic, the HR service industry has entered into a critical period of digital transformation and platform grading, and will increasingly be shaped by technology, suggested Li Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Vice-President, Donghao Lansheng Group.

Speaking at the International Human Resources Technology Conference held from September 2-3 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre, Li added, “Driven by science and technology, the scale, specialisation and internationalisation of the HR industry will continue to grow.

“Looking ahead, the development of the HR industry will increasingly rely on technology, and the cross-border integration of the modern service industry and high-tech industry is unstoppable.”

Organised jointly by the Donghao Lansheng Group and the LRP Group, organiser of the Human Resources Technology Conference in the US, the International Human Resources Technology 2020, with the theme of Technology, Empowering People, saw 20,000 online and offline participants discuss the future of HR, and the role technology has to play.

Other notable speakers at the event included Li Xiaofeng, Vice-President of Hunting and Employment, who highlighted that in the next three years, China will see an increasingly demand for graduates entering the workforce who specialise in Internet-related fields such as mathematics, physics, computer, mechanical automation and information management.

For Zhou Dan, dean of Beisen Talent Management Research Institute and Senior Vice-President of Beisen Cloud Computing, she urged organisations to begin their digital transformation, if they have not already done so, and to continue to invest in digitalisation.

Where the digitalisation of talent management is concerned, Zhou advised organisations to better understand their people and to ensure management continuity, while investing in technologies such as cloud technology can help to promote the diversity of the HR team through improving the availability of data.

In rounding off a successful event, delegates and participants also acknowledged the challenges that 2020 has brought to China and the world.

However, Donghao Lansheng Group’s Li reminded how global and industry-level events like the International Human Resources Technology Conference can help promote the digital and intelligent transformation of the HR industry.

He concluded, “In this current turbulent and uncertain period, science and technology has become the core driving force for global development.

“We see the rapid development of science and technology reshaping the organisation, and empowering people more comprehensively.”
