“Organisations must demonstrate genuine commitment to diversity through transparent actions, such as equitable hiring practices, inclusive policies, and leadership accountability.”Nosheen Subdar, Vice President of Human Resources, Europe and Asia, Penta Group.

Vice-President of Human Resources, Europe and Asia at Penta Group, Nosheen Subdar’s extensive HR expertise spans over 18 years in multinational organisations. Her international experience has provided her with a strong understanding of country-specific legislation and jurisdiction.

As organisations continue to face the not inconsiderable challenge of building a successful and game-changing talent strategy, HRM Asia caught up with Nosheen for a quickfire interview on topics such as hybrid work and employee wellbeing.

Here’s her insights on how organisations can rethink their talent management strategies to drive collaborative growth.

What are the key pillars of a successful hybrid work model and how can hybrid work improve employee satisfaction?

Nosheen Subdar:  Flexibility, clear communication, robust technology, and a culture of trust. Hybrid work can improve employee satisfaction by improving work-life balance, reducing commute stress, and allowing employees to work in environments where they are most productive.

What are the questions organisations need to ask themselves about employee wellbeing to foster a supportive workplace culture?

Nosheen: Are we providing adequate mental health resources? Do our policies support work-life balance? Are employees comfortable voicing their concerns? How are we addressing stress and burnout? These questions help ensure that employee wellbeing is a priority.

In view of the recent global backlash when it comes to organisations’ approach to workplace diversity, what can organisations do to secure buy-in and trust from employees?

Nosheen: Organisations must demonstrate genuine commitment to diversity through transparent actions, such as equitable hiring practices, inclusive policies, and leadership accountability. Regularly communicating progress and being open to feedback also builds trust.

How is AI transforming the way we work, including in areas such as talent acquisition, onboarding, and L&D?

Nosheen: AI is revolutionising work by automating routine tasks, enhancing decision-making, and providing personalised learning experiences. In talent acquisition, AI can streamline candidate screening; in onboarding, it can personalise the experience; and in L&D, it offers tailored learning paths based on individual needs.
