Reskilling and upskilling critical for organisational growth
- Shawn Liew
With companies planning the next phase of their organisational growth, the importance of reskilling and upskilling has never been more obvious.
In addition to the current disruption from the pandemic, technological adoption by companies will transform tasks, jobs and skills by 2025, predicted Coursera. At HR Tech Fest Connect 2021, Eklavya Bhave, Regional Director, APAC and Japan, Coursera, will explain the critical role organisations need to play in skilling their workforce to be prepared for this transformation.
In his presentation titled A skills-first approach to workforce learning, Bhave will provide an update on workplace learning, and highlight how organisations are taking a skills-first approach to build critical skills for critical roles.
Drawing on recent research, Suchita Prasad, Leadership Development, Talent and Change Management Expert, McKinsey & Company, pointed out that more than 100 million workers in eight countries studied may have to change occupations because of a mismatch in skills.
She added, “Business and HR leaders could respond by reimagining where and how work is done and finding new ways to hire, train and redeploy workers, with a focus on in-demand tasks rather than whole jobs.”
Find out more about the job skilling and the future of work during Prasad’s presentation at HR Tech Fest Connect 2021, titled What’s next for the future of work: Organise, leap and strengthen.
HR Tech Fest Connect 2021, Asia’s largest regional flagship conference, is organised by HRM Asia, and is powered by ADP, who will take a closer look at how people are working in 2021.
