HR Tech Festival Asia Online 2021: What’s happening on Day 2

After a successful opening day, HR Tech Festival Asia Online 2021 continues today with an in-depth look at the next generation of HR, the future of leadership and the growing trend of a hybrid workforce.

During his opening keynote session, Lars Schmidt, Author and Founder of Amplify, will detail the fundamental components of modern HR, from people analytics to inclusion. Schmidt will also explain how the role of the CHRO is evolving, and why flexibility is the path forward from the pandemic.

In examining the future of leadership, Katie Burke, Chief People Officer, Hubspot, will provide insights on how to develop successful people leaders, as organisations shift to human-centric leadership. She will also describe how remote work can support diversity and inclusion, and how learning and development (L&D) can be scaled for HR professionals.

Nela Richardson, Chief Economist, ADP, will highlight the wide range of considerations on what makes sense for their organisations and the analysis of employee perspectives for the return to on-site work post COVID-19. She will also share research findings from the ADP Research Institute on remote and on-site workers, and how those experiences vary by industry in the new post-pandemic world of work.

In a panel discussion moderated by Rachele Focardi, Global Thought Leader, Author and Founder of XYZ@Work, Yvonne Teo, Vice President, Human Resources, Asia Pacific, ADP; and Natalia Navin, CHRO, Maxis, will discuss the important changes organisations need to recognise, create, and consider, to stay ahead and develop the best and brightest of Generation Z workers.

As organisations look to select the right HR platforms for 2022 and beyond, Stephen Roche, CEO of Cloud Services Solutions, will attempt to help organisations avoid selecting the wrong HR solutions by providing tips on selecting the best package for their needs.

With the war on talent heating up, Gurinder Singh, Head of Solutions Advisory, Ceridian, will share how HR leaders can approach digital transformation strategically to help their organisations become agile and future-ready to win the talent war and achieve business success by creating a strong employee experience (EX).

Charles Ferguson, General Manager of Asia, Globalization Partners, will elaborate on the challenges organisations will face in the war for talent while remaining agile. He will also propose a remote talent acquisition strategy that can win over talent and accelerate business growth.

Emma Harvie, Head of Client Services Team, Achievers APAC, will reveal the best strategies organisations can adopt to shift the needle on their recognition programmes to deliver frequent recognition for employees and deliver on organisational objectives. She will also explain why high frequency holds the key to the success of any employee recognition programme.

The new world of EX has arrived, declared Ben Whitter, CEO, HEX Organisation & Author, Human Experience at Work, who will present the most important areas to focus on within EX and how the world’s best EX leaders are building elite teams with the right mindset, capabilities, and skills for human-centred business success.

Based on key findings from new research, Joan Collar, Asia and Pacific Regional Leader, Mercer Marsh Benefits, will reveal the top ten risks businesses in Asia should look out for, and how they can identify blind spots around critical risks. She will also provide insights into how HR, risk and C-suite leaders can work closer together to manage and motivate the workforce.

Anthony Smith, Chief Human Resources Officer, Elements Global Services, will argue why HR needs to start thinking like a venture capitalist. He will highlight how budgets can be used to strategically access where to take small, risk-free bets, and where to take small or big opportunity bets.

As technology continues to disrupt the current state of HR, Stephanie Sng, Manager, Creative & Professional Services Division, Workforce Singapore (WSG), will describe how key programmes offered by WSG are helping organisations in Singapore set effective HR polices and build a strong EX.

Rounding off Day 2 of HR Tech Festival Asia Online 2021 is Jon Ingham, Director, Strategic HR Academy. In his closing keynote address, Ingham will present a people-centric approach to EX where organisations understand employees’ real motivations for going to work. He will also elaborate on how business leaders can be engaged to embrace this approach, and why organisations should avoid simply calculating ROI.
