Empowering HR leaders to build an engaged and resilient workforce

Knowledge is power, and sharing information on how organisations can continue to grow in challenging times by focusing on their people is essential. With that, the latest edition of HR Tech Fest Connect, Asia’s largest regional flagship conference for HR and work tech, is taking place for one day only on September 27 to share key insights into workplace trends that will help HR leaders steer their organisation towards growth and stability.

Supported by Ceridian and Adobe, this year’s edition, with the theme of The Connected Workplace: Empowering HR Leaders To Build and Engaged & Resilient Workforce, will kick off with a keynote address by Arthur Carmazzi, Founder, Directive Communication Psychology. In his session titled, AIs And the Metaverse at Work: Navigating The Future Of Speaking, Coaching, And Training, Carmazzi will explore the potential of people development in the workplace through the lenses of AI and the metaverse.

Next, Rob Squires, VP, Regional Head of Asia and Japan, Ceridian, will discuss the potential of the boundless workforce in delivering the flexibility that employees want and the agility organisations need. In his session titled, The Power of Mobilising The Boundless Workforce, Squires will highlight the technologies and strategies that organisations can leverage on to ignite the full potential of the boundless workforce.

Be sure to join Stacey Harris, Chief Research Officer, Sapient Insights Group, who will reveal how global organisations are using technology to create and enhance a connected workplace. In her session titled, How to Build A Technology Stack For A Connected Workplace: Insights From The Annual HR Systems Survey, Harris will share expertise and data directly from the Asia-Pacific market about understanding the trends and proven practices for creating a flourishing digital HR environment.

Demographic change, digitalisation and new technologies have led to major shifts in our work life. But how can employers prepare themselves for these changes? In this session, Tackling Structural Changes by Shaping The Future Of Work, Miriam Sake, Senior Vice-President, People and Organisation, ASEAN, Siemens, will discuss how Siemens is driving the future of work in the vibrant ASEAN market to ensure sustainable employment for its employees. 

Next, Bloomberg’s leaders Alisha Fernando, Head of Diversity & Inclusion APAC; and Rajiv Mirwani, Head of Bloomberg South Asia, will head a session called Integrated Employee Wellbeing for A Diverse and Inclusive Workplace, which looks to explore how employee wellbeing is a top priority on the corporate agenda. As leaders look to drive stronger engagement, retention and productivity amongst their teams, attendees can learn more about initiatives the firm has spearheaded to ensure employee wellbeing is a consideration that is integrated into all facets of the employee lifecycle.

Employee health and wellbeing has been a long-standing challenge, with more HR leaders and organisations investing in wellbeing more than ever before. In Employee Burnout Is Real: Building Resilience For A Healthier Workforce, presented by The Resilience Institute, SEA, Manish Arneja, Managing Partner, SEA, Resilience Institute, will provide insights into how employees can be assisted by their organisation’s leaders to beat burnout and build on essential practices to enhance performance.

With talent management of the future to be characterised by individualised and flexible work models, companies will need to move away from a one-size-fits-all approach and towards strategies that acknowledge and accommodate the individual needs and desires of their employees. In her session titled, Winning the War For The “Right” Talent, Eliana Carmel, Chief People Officer, Agoda, will discuss how employers can attract the right talent and engage them effectively through varied working arrangements, personalised career development plans, as well as tailored benefits and perks.

In an increasingly digitalised world of work, organisations are looking to build a more inclusive work environment by creating engaging and interactive digital employee experiences. In his session titled, Elevating The Digital Employee Experience With The Right ToolsPranshul Pahuja, Solutions Consultant – Document Cloud, Adobe, will share how employers can deliver all-digital HR experiences that will increase their organisation’s efficiency in hiring, managing and retaining the best talent, while enabling employees to stay productive, no matter where they work from.

Be sure to catch the session titled, Driving Future Growth: How Organisations Can Identify Trends & Opportunities, which looks to focus on how to select growth opportunities based on the shifting trends that will affect the near future. With Go Ashokh Menon, Agile Coach and Facilitator, One Synergy Global, learn how to organise and engage a resilient workforce to deliver high impact performance, and understand what leaders need to do differently to engage and support their teams as they navigate the future. 

Work has changed and so have employees, heralding the transformation of Human Capital Management (HCM). Joshua Ooi, Senior Manager, Solutions Advisory, Ceridian, will head a demonstration with Ceridian’s platform Dayforce in a session called Connecting and Transforming The Workforce With Dayforce, which looks to explore the new demands of HCM which includes flexibility, personalisation, and purpose.

Looking to understand Gen Z in the workplace? The panel discussion, Gen Z Rising In Asia: A Dynamic Force For Organisational Change, will take a deep dive into what organisations can do to attract and retain a new generation of employees. Moderated by Dr Sandhya Karpe, Human Capital Center Leader, Asia and Programme Director of Asia Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, The Conference Board, the discussion will see panellists Ruth Gellert-Neale, Chief Human Resources Officer Technology, APAC and EMEA, JLL Technologies; David Lim, SVP Human Resources (Asia Pacific), PVH Corp; and Wong Yang Sheng, Head of HR for Singapore, Australia and Brunei, Standard Chartered Bank; discuss how organisations can manage a multi-generational, inclusive workforce for all employees.

Marriott International is a brand many are familiar with, but how did the organisation overcome the challenges the pandemic posed and remain steadfast in building a thriving culture, leading to higher employee engagement and company success? The Building A Thriving Culture: Why Employee Engagement Is All About People session will look to explore the people-first approach Marriott International has employed, with Andrew Newmark, Chief Human Resources Officer, Marriott International, discussing how Marriott has pivoted to the changing needs of associates to attract, engage, and develop talent.

In her session titled, Cultivating a Sustainable Future Through Greenskilling, Nathalie Huynh, Cluster HR Director, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Schneider Electric, will delve into Schneider Electric’s proactive approach in nurturing green talents. Attendees will learn how the organisation meticulously cultivates these talents and prepare them for the multi-faceted landscape of the future workforce.

In the closing keynote session, Employee Engagement in A Hybrid World – Strategies for Success, Kris Wadia, Chief Executive Officer, Humanized Leadership, will share proven tactics and strategies to help organsiations improve their bottom line by motivating employees and raising their productivity, as well as embedding successful employee engagement strategies into each stage of the lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement.
