Google to add 3,800 jobs in Philippines, India and US

The internet giants are expected to bring some 3,800 customer support jobs in-house to its offices in Philippines, India and Mississippi at the end of 2020.

Google will be adding 3,800 customer support jobs in Philippines, India and Mississippi (US) to further boost its support for users by the end of 2020.

The internet giants tend to outsource its support services such as answering of customer service calls and troubleshooting to third party vendors.

But Google Operations Centre Vice-President Troy Dickerson announced they will be bringing more support staff in-house to add to the 1,000 Google customer support agents already working in Google Operations Centres (GOCs).

“Based on the great feedback we’ve received on that programme, we’re expanding — by the end of 2020, we will have created more than 4,800 Google customer support jobs, including the 1,000 Google customer support agents already working in our Google Operations Centres (GOCs).”

The staff in the centres will receive benefits such as three weeks of paid vacation, up to 22 weeks of paid parental leave, comprehensive health care (medical, dental and vision coverage)as well as free meals at work.
